First Communion

Children aged 7 and older are invited to prepare for First Communion. Please complete the registration form below to register for the preparation program.

At St. Mark’s children complete both the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist in the same preparation year. The program runs from late November to the end of April on Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:30 a.m. (only 1-2 classes/month.)

• Children (accompanied by their parents) attend 8 classes where a variety of topics are covered such as: the life of Jesus, the 10 commandments, the 7 sacraments, a tour of the church, Lent, Reconciliation, the Bible, etc.
• Parents attend 3 evening meetings to help them take on their role as the primary teachers of the faith for their children.
• Families are encouraged to attend mass weekly as well as special parish activities to become full participants in our parish family.

Young people aged 7 to 16 are welcome to register for the program. Anyone older than 16 should contact the parish office for more information about how to complete these 2 sacraments. Baptism is a prerequisite for this program. If your child is not baptized, this can be added to their formation.
